Concord Coach Lines Bus Station

Auburn, ME

This small bus station was constructed for the Maine Department of Transportation to facilitate travel between the Lewiston Auburn area and Portland. The project designed as lease space for Concord Coach Lines. The client’s brief called for a brick structure with a gabled roof with a canopy to shelter passengers on the platform. The completed station includes a waiting room with a high ceiling and a coffee bar. A large window provides ample daylight and allows for views of approaching busses making their way up the access road. The flooring is durable porcelain tile and the gabled ceiling is faced with fabric faced acoustic panels. Accessible rest rooms and a small custodial closet serve the waiting area. The business side of the facility houses the service desk and an office. A storage room is accessed from the exterior at the bus platform.
